  1. Note 01

Each overview cited about four distinct sources on average: 4.6 in the US, 3.8 in the UK. Those sources, not your homepage, decide what the answer says about you.

  2. Note 02

YouTube was cited in 36 of the 50 American overviews and Reddit in 29 of the 49 British ones. Two platforms shape more answers than any brand site.

  3. Note 03

Notion’s own domain appeared in 6 of its 50 overviews. Being the subject of the question is not the same as being the source of the answer.

Built like evidence, not like a slide deck.

A private web report and a PDF. Every figure links to the exhibit it was computed from, so a client or a board can follow each claim back to the page.

    Summary

How often an AI Overview appeared, how often you were named, your share of the answer against up to three competitors, the ten most cited domains, and which brand is named in which kind of query.

  2. 02

    Citation inventory

Every domain Google cited, how often, on which queries, and how many of those overviews named your brand. This is where the work starts.

  3. 03

    Exhibits

One page per query: the screenshot, the verbatim overview, the sources in order, the brands named, the time of capture.

  4. 04

    ChatGPT, sampled

The same questions asked five times each, reported as frequencies.

  5. 05

    What to do next

The moves the evidence supports, in priority order: which domains to get onto, which comparisons to address, which trust questions to answer. Each one cites the exhibits behind it.

  6. 06

    Method note

Queries, market, dates and times. Signed-out Google as seen from the target country. Nothing you cannot check.

  7. 07

Scoped per engagement. A single-market report is typically delivered within 48 hours of the agreed query set.

The dial is the clock we work to. Every exhibit carries its time of capture in UTC and the market’s local date, so the report can be checked against the day it describes.

    Tell us about the brand

Your domain, brand name, competitors and markets, and what you want to know. We agree the scope with you, then write the queries in four groups: best-of lists, comparisons, alternatives and trust questions.

A person checks the query set before any capture.

  2. Hours 1 to 40

We capture Google’s answers from each country

Each query is run on Google as it appears in the target country. We record whether an AI Overview appeared, its text, the sources it cites and the brands it names, and keep a screenshot with the time of capture.

Signed-out Google, as a local user sees it.

The private web report and the PDF, checked by a person before it goes out. Yours to forward to a client or a board.

05 · Questions

Questions.

What is an AI Overview?

The AI-written answer Google shows at the top of many search results, above the usual links. It summarises an answer and cites a handful of sources. It differs by country and language, which is why a check from the United States says little about the United Kingdom.

Do you report on destinations as well as brands?

Yes. A destination is measured the same way: traveller questions written in each market’s language, the answers captured in that market, and the sources that shape them: tourism boards, travel guides, forums and video. Comparison questions (“X or Y for a weekend”) show which destination is recommended where.

Who is behind Nordcite?

Nordcite is a product of STAROMEDA OÜ · registry code 17380642 · Pärnu, Estonia · VAT EE102928132. Your data is stored in the EU. Write to hello@nordcite.com and a person answers.

Which AI assistants do you cover?

Google’s AI Overviews are the core of every report, because an AI Overview is a page we can photograph: you see the answer, its sources and the time it was taken. ChatGPT is included as a sampled section: each question is asked five times in the target country and language, and we report how often a brand or place is named and which sources are cited — “named in 4 of 5 answers”. A chat answer changes between runs, so we report it as a frequency, never as a single result. Other assistants on request.

Which language is the report in?

English: we work with clients in many countries, and every answer is shown exactly as Google gave it, in the language of each market. On request, a closing part translates the summary, the questions, the opening of each answer and the next steps into your language, and a person checks every translation before the report is delivered.

Which countries do you cover?

Any of the more than 200 countries and territories where Google shows AI Overviews. Each report is scoped per market; the US and UK are published examples, and further markets are added per engagement.

How do you know what Google shows in another country?

Every result in the report comes from a Google results page captured in the target country, as a signed-out user would see it, and kept as a screenshot with its time of capture. Every figure links to the exhibit it came from, so you never have to take our word for a number.

What do I need to provide, and how long does it take?

The brand’s domain and name, up to three competitor domains, and the market or markets. Optional notes help us pick the right category. Scoped per engagement. A single-market report is typically delivered within 48 hours of the agreed query set; a person checks each query set and each report before it goes out.

What if Google shows no AI Overview for my queries?

That is a finding in itself, but we do not charge for it: if no AI Overview appeared for any query in a market, you get a full refund for that market.

Can I share the report with a client?

Yes. You get a private link and a PDF; both are yours to forward. Agencies can use it as the evidence page of a proposal.

One report, or ongoing?

Either. A single report is complete on its own. If you want to see how the answers move, we ask the same queries again on a schedule we agree; the queries stay the same, so every change is two screenshots with two dates on them.

What does it cost?

It depends on the scope: how many markets, how many queries, and whether it is one report or repeated. Tell us what you want to know and we reply with a quote.
